I never though of ever going to Belarus. I simply did not know about its existence, but once I found an interesting article about White Russia and decided to try this destination.
Belarus is a really nice place to spend your vacation despite the fact that there are no so many people coming there. Minsk cannot compete with Moscow or St. Peterburg for historical monuments, but definitely beats by the number of pretty girls. Being serious Minsk seems to be cleaner and whole Belarus is much more beautiful to my mind. My opinion could be influenced by the season as I was in Russia in winter and in Belarus in summer.
When booking my air tickets and hotel room I found out that there were not so many companies that flew to Minsk and moreover there were no lowcost flights at all. Hotels seem to be owned by the state, at least major part of them and those owned by private companies does not have any competitors thus the prices in Minsk are really high for tourists. It could be normal that with one night average hotel  stay invoice you could pay a month of long-term stay in an economic apartment. That is incredible but it is the truth.
